The Olympic 6 Starter Pistol is an affordable replica gun and dog training pistol. This blank firing revolver has working single and double action, which means you can cock the hammer yourself when firing, or you can just give the trigger a squeeze and let the double action do all the work for you. Having been crafted from precision machined parts, this revolver is exceptional in its appearance and incredibly realistic to look at. The cylinder swings open to accept five rounds. This replica gun cannot be converted to fire live ammo. The barrel is plugged and has a red dot at the end in compliance with ATF regulations. No federal license required.

      Good quality prop

We used this gun for the onstage prop in a production of "The Play That Goes Wrong". PROS: The gun is well-made, reliable, and the nickel plating looks very good and holds up well to the necessary weekly cleanings during the run. CONS: The cylinder spins freely when the gun is NOT cocked, like the old-style Peacemakers in the movies. For our purposes, this was something of a problem, because the specific gag in this show calls for two "misfires" followed by an "accidental" discharge. This means that the single chamber containing the one live blank (as opposed to the four dead shells in place to allow for dry firing) would not stay in position when the gun was loaded before the performance. We solved this by using nail polish to put small white marks on both the frame AND the cylinder that the actor can surreptitiously line up during the performance, so that the third hammer cock lines up the hot round to fire. I also agree with a previous comment that the trigger pull in "double action" use is pretty heavy, requiring some firm effort to activate the mechanism. Obviously, we were able to overcome these few shortcomings, and the gun has performed well for our 7-week run. The actors and crew loved working with it! Worth the money, for sure.

Good quality but has a personal downside

I noticed out of the box that the revolvers trigger was quite heavy and had a long pull; The trigger was lighter when I cocked it though but I would’ve enjoyed a lighter double action trigger.
